More Success Stories

Sam & Kevin

Just thought I'd drop you an email to tell you about another success story thanks to your wonderful intervention!

I came to a speed date session in October 2005 (was actually dragged along to be moral support to my girlfriend ), where I met some lovely men and had a great time, totally contrary to my initial expectations. I didn't end up dating anyone immediately after that but contacted the one guy (Kevin) that caught my eye the next January to see if he was still single, much to my surprise he was and we started dating.

Well, 14 months later and he has just proposed, we are living together and starting to plan our wedding. My only gripe is that he got into the session for free and I had to pay 45 bucks! Kevin does say that he expects to be paying for the rest of his life however, which I am pretty happy about.

Anyway, we are now staunch proponents of speed dating to all our single friends and hopefully you will get lots of referrals because of us. The invite to our engagement party is below, we had to invite you as fairy godmother to our relationship. Cheers

John & Abbey

I met Abbey at Speed Date over 12 months ago now and we are together and life is good. I chickened out of the first night I booked, I came up with some lame excuse and rebooked and attended a couple of weeks later. I'm so glad I did.

Regards

Barbara & her 'match'

How's that for timing, I was just writing you an email and your newsletter came whizzing through. I have recommended Speed Date to many people, and have also felt confident in telling people that's how I met my 'match'.

It's been a month now (feels like six) and things are still going strong with my match from the 17th (Iguacu). Long may it continue.

Cheers to you and Speed Date.

Garry & Carolyn

I wanted to let you know that I attended your speed date night at Rise on 9th February (the following week I went to your Valentines dinner also). Anyway, at the speed dating on the 9th one of my matches was with Garry. We met up the following week and now 10 weeks on we are still together and have a wonderful relationship which is getting stronger and stronger.
When I went on the 9th I thought at the least it would be a fun night (which it was), and when I go to anything like this, I am hopeful that I might meet someone that I at least click with and perhaps see a couple of times.

I never dared to hope I would meet someone that I would form a long term relationship with. Who knows what the future holds for the two of us, however, from where I'm standing, it's looking very promising.

Keep up the good work. Cheers

Chika & her Lovely Man

Thanks for sending me an e-mail, but I don't need speed dating any more so please delete my address from your database.

I met a really lovely man at my first speed date, (it was his 3or 4th time he said).

Now we're living together. I'm so happy about it, and I think I'm very lucky. Speed Date had worked very well!!

Thank you for this great meeting, and I hope a lot of people become happy as we are! Thank you.

Maria & Man of her Dreams

Hey just to say thanks for the invitation - Luckily I have found the man of my dreams and moving in with him soon. (Just thought you might want a happy story!!) Just want to thank you for the speed dating concept. It gave me hope whilst I was out in the wilderness, so thanks.

I will tell my single friends about this...Best wishes.

Naomi & Hotter Guy

Hi Verity, not sure if you remember me, but I attended your speed date evening for the first time in February. I was the one who juggled and found 2 more girls at the last minute. Anyway, wanted to just advise you that as a result of that evening I have been dating one of the guys, its been 10 months now, and still geting hotter. We have made a commitment to buy somewhere together in the new year so there is plenty to look forward to, just watch this space.

Many Thanks

Julia & Martin

I attended Speed Date on March 9th last year and lucky for us I contacted Martin as you listed him as a friend choice only - he actually put me down as date and friend - anyway worked out the mistake during our first phone call.

Anyway we went on our first date that Sunday, got on really well, moved in together 4 months later and got engaged April 26 this year in Rarotonga!

We are getting married next year on March 1st! 'm so glad I called him................

Just goes to show that some people have success!!!!!

Regards

Ruth & Tony

I had been going to singles events with various organisations for about 2 years. I was serious about meeting the right guy. I made a real effort at everything. I went to talk to as many people as possible and if I liked someone to give them my number or exchange email addresses. I had made a lot of friends this way and been on a few dates but still hadn't clicked with a special guy.

Unfortunately I was starting to feel it was never going to happen, I had given up hope. So I decided to just enjoy life and try not to worry about it. Better to be single and happy than attached and miserable with the wrong person.

One of my friends that rarely organised an outing asked me to come along to the singles party at the Komodo Lounge. I was feeling really tired that night but didn't want to disappoint my friend so she went along, determine to have fun.

Tony had been in a bad relationship for a few years and it had finally finished. He was glad to be out of it. He didn't really expect to meet anyone for a while and wasn't looking, as such. You know how guys are.

A friend of his asked him to come along to the singles party at the Komodo lounge to help make up numbers, the girl to guy ratio was too high. It was his first night out after his break up and he just wanted to have fun.

My friends and I did our usual thing, mingling and talking to as many people as possible. We happened to come across Tony's group of friends and Tony and I talked. The group ended up chatting all night, we played pool and generally had a fun time. At the end of the night I asked Tony for his card. Tony gave it to me and also said that he didn't like people to ask for cards unless they were going to use them. Of course that was my intention as I'm a pretty proactive kind of girl.

So when I got outside I txt him straight away. There I thought, now he has my number and the ball is in his court.
Tony was stoked. He txt me the next day and we organised to go out on a date.

The rest as they say is history. We got engaged and are planning a family.
